Moebius Art Project

Moebius Art Project includes a series of collaborations with Italian and international artists and creatives who will present temporary works specially designed for the space.

Felix, Felix c’mon, come down! How to handle such a complex being? Impossible. Felix is an aesthete, a gourment. Once he finds a place akin to him, it becomes impossible to move him from there. He chose Mœbius, a place with a strong industrial appeal, with hints of vintage here and there in the decor and large plants. Maybe that’s why he chose it; Felix loves plants. I think somehow, despite being born in captivity, it reminds him of his hypothetical, probable homeland. Or maybe it’s just all the stereotypes he has swallowed over time. Well, no matter, he likes it. Mimetic and sinuous, he chose the big windows on the street. Dividing reality into layers, Felix almost seems to go in and out of the window frames.

Felix is at his umpteenth evolution. He has lived in other eras, changing name, gender, substance. He has lived lives of plexiglass, iron, steel, and now a two-dimensional, even more driven, vinyl one.

It is hybrid in its deepest essence, anthropomorphic and theriomorphic, human and animal.

Nicole Colombo lives and works in Milano. Her domestic and large-scale sculptures and installations create a tension in the space and in the observer as they possess a sort of living energy, while the chosen materials and their combination result to be at the same time libidinal and repulsive. An anthropological approach stands at the core of her research: the artist observes the dichotomies that often characterize the western societies and the difficulty of the human being to accept their co-existence. Leveraging our common imaginary, her attempt gives back to the observer artworks that represent the duality of things, creating abstract characters that portrait each of us. Leather, aluminum, synthetic hairs, chains, plexiglass and hooks give birth to an impeccable and highly aestheticized vision in order to attract the viewers and introduce them to a wider range of possibilities as a lens to approach reality.
